What We Do

Research.
Advocate.
Act.

WCRAN’s work is built on three interdependent pillars. Evidence without advocacy goes unheard. Advocacy without evidence lacks force. Support without systems change is temporary. We pursue all three in concert.

01 — Research

Evidence-Based Documentation

We conduct comprehensive research on conditions facing women and children in conflict zones — particularly Afghanistan under Taliban governance. Our reports are designed to be used: in courtrooms, parliamentary hearings, and international policy processes.

  • Field research and survivor testimony collection
  • Data analysis and statistical documentation
  • Policy-facing reports for international forums
  • Gender apartheid documentation for legal proceedings
  • Media briefings and expert testimony

02 — Advocacy

Demanding Binding Protections

Our advocacy reaches the highest levels of international governance. We engage national governments, the United Nations Human Rights Council, and the European Parliament — bringing documented evidence to the forums where binding international law is made and where women’s lives depend on it.

  • UN Human Rights Council submissions and appearances
  • Parliamentary briefings in Canada, Europe, and beyond
  • International solidarity convenings (20+ countries)
  • Campaigns: 16 Days of Activism, #MyVoiceForHer
  • Media engagement and public awareness

03 — Direct Support

Concrete Help for Those at Risk

Systemic change takes time. In the meantime, women and children need direct support now. WCRAN delivers practical assistance through partner networks and our own programmes, particularly for Afghan diaspora communities in Canada and Europe.

  • Legal aid and asylum support
  • Counselling and mental health referrals
  • Education and literacy programmes
  • Economic empowerment initiatives
  • Community network building
